Genetic characterization and variation within and among populations of Anthyllis rupestris Coss., and endangered endemism of southern Spain

► Anthyllis rupestris an endemic plant growing in southeastern of Spain was studied. ► ITS revealed that is related to two other endemic species. ► ISSR detected the genetic diversity within and among populations of the species. ► Quite high levels of genetic diversity were detected at both levels. Measures are suggested for conservation programs.
