Influence of the plant development on microbial diversity of vertical-flow constructed wetlands

► The microbial activity of two VFCWs with the same feed C/N ratios was studied. ► Developmental stage plant present had a great effect on microbial community diversity. ► Simpson index will be increased if carbon supply will be decreased.
