Molecular phylogeny and evidence for natural hybridization and historical introgression between Ceriops species (Rhizophoraceae)

► Molecular phylogeny of Ceriops was constructed based on molecular data. ► We detected the natural hybridization and historical introgression between Ceriops species. ► C. decandra and C. zippeliana have mutual historical introgression for most of the populations. ► The intermediate form from Darwin is likely a natural hybrid between C. tagal and C. australis.
