Genetic structure of loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta) populations in Turkey

► We investigate genetic structure of Caretta caretta in Turkey. ► We have studied 256 hatchlings from 18 different nesting beaches. ► Both mtDNA and nuclear DNA were used for this aim. ► We found relatively higher genetic diversity and structuring. ► Therefore, the area was regarded as a significant region for conservation.
