Importance of nitric oxide synthase in the anchoring structures of Neobenedenia girellae - an important fish parasite

► We investigated the role of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) on Neobenedenia girellae. ► Neuronal and Endothelial isoforms of NOS are more expressed near the haptor. ► N. girellae is recognized as one of the most important pathogen of fish. ► The results are important for the development drugs to fight N. girellae.
