Secondary metabolites from Potentilla recta L. and Drymocallis rupestris (L.) Soják (syn. Potentilla rupestris L.) (Rosaceae)

► The isolation of polyphenolics from Potentilla recta and Drymocallis rupestris were carried out. ► All compounds from P. recta and D. rupestris were isolated for the first time. ► The occurrence of flavones based on apigenin and luteolin derivatives from Potentilla species has never been reported so far. ► This is the first report of the chemical composition of aerial parts of D. rupestris. ► Isolated compounds could be chemotaxonomic markers for the genus Potentilla.
