Design and synthesis of celastrol derivatives as anticancer agents

Novel celastrol derivatives as potential telomerase inhibitors were designed and synthesized. Compound 3c exhibited strong inhibitory activity against SMMC-7721 cells, and showed the most potent telomerase inhibitory activity.
