Design and regioselective synthesis of trifluoromethylquinolone derivatives as potent antimicrobial agents

Regioselective N-alkylated quinolone derivatives were synthesized by multi-step reactions. Three dimensional structure of 2b and 4b were confirmed by single crystal X-ray studies. Compounds were characterized and screened for their antimicrobial activity.
