► Synthesis of ferrocenyl-ampicillin and ferrocenyl-6-aminopenicillinic acid compounds. ► Obtained complexes were evaluated as antibacterial and anticancer agents. ► Ferrocenyl-6-APA conjugates were the most antibacterial and anticancer active.
