Synthesis and biological activity evaluation of cytidine-5′-deoxy-5-fluoro-N-[(alkoxy/aryloxy)] carbonyl-cyclic 2′,3′-carbonates

► A series of 5′-deoxy-5-fluorocytidine derivatives synthesized in two-step process. ► We have characterized anti-cancer activity of 5′-deoxy-5-fluorocytidine derivatives. ► Title compounds were non-mutagenic to Salmonella typhimurium tester strain. ► HeLa, NCI-69, PZ-HPV-7, MCF-7 cancer cell lines are highly sensitive to 5d, 5e. ► 5d & 5e Showed potent antitumor activity compared to capecitabine in in vivo system.
