Synthesis and antibacterial property of pyrrolopyrano quinolinones and pyrroloquinolines

► Pyrroloquinolinone, pyrroloquinoline derivatives has been synthesized by cycloaddition reaction. ► The compounds were found to have good antibacterial activity against selected pathogens. ► Some of the compounds were found to have better activity than the reference compound ciprofloxacin. ► The efficacy of binding of these compounds to enzyme gyrase, is examined using PCR method.
