Synthesis of 1-naphtylpiperazine derivatives as serotoninergic ligands and their evaluation as antiproliferative agents

► Serotonin is involved in physiological and pathophysiological processes. ► 5-HT1A antagonists could be useful in inhibiting the growth of cancer cells. ► 1-naphtylpiperazine derivatives are 5-HT ligands with an antiproliferative activity. ► Inhibition of AKT may explain the growth inhibitory activity of these derivatives.
