Optimum trapezoidal frame with rigid members and flexible joints

A loaded trapezoidal frame with rigid members and flexible joints is studied. An exact solution method is used to find buckling and non-linear post buckling characteristics. In most cases a snap through phenomenon occurs. There exists an optimum trapezoidal shape for stability.
