High energy γ-ray emission from compact galactic sources in the context of observations with the next generation Cherenkov Telescope Arrays

► This is a review article on compact galactic sources in the context of their future observations with the CTA. ► I present up to date summary of GeV-TeV γ-ray observations of these sources. ► I present up to date summary of theoretical investigations of these sources. ► I consider how the CTA could make progress in solving the problem of the origin of the cosmic rays.
