Polarization gratings using ferronematics-An elastic continuum theory

► We provide a theoretical study of LCPG based on the ferronematic liquid crystals in magnetic field. ► We calculated the critical thickness and the threshold field of LCPGs for different anchorages. ► We studied the dynamic behavior of LCPGs when the magnetic field is switched on or off.
