Electronic and magnetic properties of disordered AuCr alloys: A first-principles study

► We prepare and characterize FeAl and experimentally study the temperature variation of magnetization. ► We explain the plethora of earlier results through ab inito theoretical techniques. ► We conclude that exotic behavior of these alloys arise from their inherent inhomogeneous disorder.
