Self-organized nanorods in disproportionated Sm2Fe17 and NdFe10.5Mo1.5 alloys

► Self-organized disproportionated morphologies of Sm-Fe and Nd-Fe-Mo alloys were found. ► There are no orientations between the recombined grain and the ordered microstructure. ► Ordered information of the alloys is lost during the desorption recombination stage. ► Ordered disproportionation morphology is helpful for the formation of anisotropy. ► Preferred nucleation and growth of recombined grain is also required.
