Minimum weight design of sandwich beams with honeycomb core of arbitrary density

We consider minimum weight optimization of sandwich beams for a given stiffness. The core consists of regular hexagonal honeycomb structure of arbitrary density. We present a simple algorithm for estimating all design parameters. Concrete examples are also given.
