On the path integral representation of the Wigner function and the Barker-Murray ansatz

► We derive the quantum mechanical propagator of the Wigner function in the path integral representation. ► We show that the Barker-Murray ansatz is incomplete, explain the error and provide an alternative. ► An example of a Monte Carlo simulation of the semiclassical path integral is included.
