On the spectral decomposition of the elasticity tensor for the cubic crystal system

The spectral decompostion of the elasticity tensor is presented in direct notation and used to discuss choices of the principal (eigen-) vectors that yield a dyadic form. The principal vectors, also recognized as 2-tensors, are used to facilitate the physical interpretation of terms that appear in the spectral representation.
