Fatal ischemic stroke caused by cerebral small arteritis in a patient with giant cell arteritis

- A case of recurrent and fatal ischemic infarctions in a GCA patient is reported.
- Multiple intracranial large-artery stenoses on MRA were found.
- On autopsy, inflammations were scarce in large and medium-sized arteries.
- Lymphocytic infiltrations in cerebral small arteries were observed.
