Pallidal stimulation in dystonia affects cortical but not spinal inhibitory mechanisms

The pallidal DBS did not affect the spinal inhibitory circuitry in dystonia. However, the abnormally low cortical inhibition was normalized after DBS possibly offering more efficient suppression of aberrant dystonic movements.
