An experimental study on constitutive equations of alloy IC10 over a wide range of temperatures and strain rates
چکیده انگلیسی

IC10 is a newly developed Ni3Al-based superalloy. In order to investigate its flow behaviors, tensile experiments were conducted over a wide range of temperatures (25–700 °C) and strain rates (10−4–10−2 s−1) on a material testing system (MTS809). Experiments show that: (1) there are only work hardening behaviors during tensile deformations; (2) the flow stress increases with temperatures lightly; (3) and the strain rate sensitive is not obvious. The fracture and deformation mechanisms of IC10 are studied based on transmission electron microscope (TEM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) experiments. Ludwik–Hollomon (L–H) model is used widely in practice. But it does not consider the effects of strain rates and temperatures. In this paper, it is modified to describe the flow behaviors of alloy IC10 at different temperatures and strain rates. And the effectiveness of the modified model is verified by extensive experiments on IC10.

► The flow behaviors of IC10 at various conditions have been studied.
► Its fracture and deformation mechanisms have been studied based on TEM and SEM tests.
► L–H model is modified and used to predict flow behaviors of IC10 successfully.
