The capacity to comigrate with Lyophyllum sp. strain Karsten through different soils is spread among several phylogenetic groups within the genus Burkholderia

► Burkholderia terrae BS001 like bacteria are wide spread in different Dutch soils. ► Different soils may contain phylogenetically similar bacteria and the other way around. ► Bacterial comigratory characteristic is spread over different species of Burkholderia genus. ► Burkholderia comigratory capacity is dependent on soil type in which the host fungus is colonizing. ► Burkholderia are very diverse in both their genotype and phenotype.
