Effects of UV-B filtration on the chemistry and decomposition of Fraxinus excelsior leaves

► Ash seedlings were grown under several levels of reduced UV-A and UV-B radiation. ► After one year of decomposition leaf mass loss was 10% higher without UV-B exposure. ► No changes were detected in carbohydrate and lignin content of cell wall material. ► Effects of UV filtration can differ from effects of UV lamp supplementation.
