Biochemical and biological characterization of two serine proteinases from Colombian Crotalus durissus cumanensis snake venom

► Two serine proteinases were characterized from Crotalus durissus cumanensis venom. ► These enzymes differ in their pharmacological spectrum of activities. ► Toxins showed coagulant activity on human plasma. ► They lacked hemorrhagic and myotoxic activities, but induced defibrin(ogen)ation. ► These enzymes potentiate the hemorrhagic activity of a metalloproteinase.
