Conformal transformation of metrics on the nn-sphere

The purpose of this work is to discuss some new results on the scalar curvature problem in dimension n≥3n≥3. We give precise estimates on the losses of compactness and we prove the existence of at least a solution under the assumption that the prescribed function is flat near its critical points.
