Une analyse de sites internet francophones faisant la publicité de l'éducation périnatale à Ottawa

This article presents the results of an analysis of internet websites that publicize perinatal education classes in the Ottawa region in Canada for Franco-Ontarian parenting couples living in a linguistic minority situation. Both positive and negative results emerged from the analysis. Most of the content found on the Internet websites adheres to the recommendations proposed by Best Start (Meilleur Départ), which is an perinatal, parenting and professional internet resource found in Ontario. However, some differences still exist, such as the lack of advertising efforts, the subjects that are not presented and the lack of certification for the educators. Only one Internet website presented information on perinatal sexuality. Another finding was that it was more difficult to navigate on the French websites than on the English ones. Seeking health-related information online is a skill that is part of health literacy of which the Health Literacy Skills Framework as developed by Squiers and her colleagues can be useful.
