Impaired niacin sensitivity in acute first-episode but not in multi-episode schizophrenia

Comparison of niacin sensitivity at different stages of schizophrenia support the notion of altered prostaglandin signaling primarily at the onset of disorder. Longitudinal studies have to rule out possible long-term effects of neuroleptic medication.
