Living with the loss: Emotional ties to place in the Vuoksi and Talvivaara regions in Finland

• We examine emotions attached to two different lost places.
• We show how emotions are tied to place relations in multiple ways.
• We show that despite the time difference emotions of place losses are quite similar.
• We also show that emotions may last a long time and move on to the next generation.
