Economic Differences of Countries by the River Danube

Main goal of this study is to analyze economic differences of countries, located by the river Danube, specifically comparing countries on the base of NUTS2 regions. Main motivator of this topic is the event according to in 2011; the European Committee restarted the so called EU Strategy for the Danube Region, which is a complex development plan, focusing on this geographic area. Primal targets of Danube Region Strategy are enabling long term cooperation between countries by the Danube, urging economic development, improving infrastructure, saving environmental elements and handling local problems. Worth to analyze regional characteristics of the attached Eastern European and Balkan countries, recognize reasons of regional differences in order to facilitate proper tools of regional cohesion and progress.
