Using hysteresis behaviour to determine the anisotropy and interactions in complex self-assembled Co metallic nanoparticle systems

We present a mixed experiment-simulation procedure of characterising the magnetic properties of samples consisting of self-assembled complex mono-bilayers of Co metallic nanoparticles prepared in plasma environment. Detailed experimental information using imaging techniques as well as magnetic measurements represent an input for the simulations which allows to obtain quantitative information on the anisotropy energy density and on the exchange interactions between particles in the system.
