Preparing Fock states of the electromagnetic field via Raman interaction

A recent proposal creating Fock states of the quantized radiation field, of kind |2N〉, was presented. The scheme was based on dispersive interaction of a cavity field with two-level Rydberg atoms. Here we get the same, via a simplified scheme using Raman interaction of the cavity field with degenerate three-level atoms.
