Infrastructure regulatory institutions and their impact: Papers from CCRP, City University Workshop 2006

This paper provides a short introduction to subsequent papers by (i) Gaggero, (ii) Maiorano and Stern and (iii) Montoya and Trillas on various aspects of economic regulation of telecommunications and other infrastructure industries. The papers present the results of new empirical research and cover important issues such as the use of regulatory indices and econometric issues in this area including the treatment of endogeneity in general and endogenous institutions in particular as well as the choice of appropriate estimation techniques for panel data models.
