The paper presents a case of therapeutic and diagnostic medical malpractice. Anastomosis of the stomach with the first small intestinal loop and Brown anastomosis between the small intestinal loops were to be performed in a child with pyloric atresia, but the stomach was erroneously anastomosed to the transverse colon which led to short bowel syndrome. The diagnosis of causes of that syndrome and institution of a corrective surgery took almost 2 years.
