Gastrointestinal microbiota ecosystem is one of the factors influencing the risk of allergy development and probiotics play immunomodulatory role, therefore there are more and more reports of beneficial effects of probiotics: in the prevention and treatment of allergies, both food allergy and to aeroallergens. In this paper we present a review of the literature on this subject.
