Association between inflammation biomarkers, anatomic extent of deep venous thrombosis, and venous symptoms after deep venous thrombosis

Levels of CRP and IL-6 at DVT diagnosis were associated with thrombotic disease burden, as measured by DVT extent, and severity of DVT symptoms and signs. Further studies are required to more fully elucidate the role of inflammation in DVT and its clinical course.
