Solidification of a PEG 1500-epoxy nanocomposite around a horizontal pipe

► The PEG 1500-epoxy composite is used as solid-liquid latent heat material for energy storage use. ► Thermal analysis of this composite gives accurate information on phase change process. ► Solidification behavior is dependent on proportion of crystalline and amorphous phases of PEG. ► Proposed model of cylindrical solidification is validated for an annular layer of 1.2 cm thickness.
