Micro-controller based air pressure monitoring instrumentation system using optical fibers as sensor

► The paper uses intensity modulation technique to measure air pressure using macro banding effect of optical fibers. ► The instrumentation system uses two mode fibers, one as a “sensor fiber” and the other one is used as the “reference fiber”. ► The use of reference fiber in the scheme helps in removing environmental effect from the measurement of thrust value.
