Clinical decision support: Converging toward an integrated architecture

► We study the research efforts of Clinical Decision Support for the last 20 years. ► We examine why there are so many definitions and architectures in CDS literature. ► We find that the CDS architectures are coalescing toward an integrated architecture. ► This finding is supported by current CDS research, EHR vendors and several national projects.
