Structural behaviour of mixed cationic surfactant micelles: A small-angle neutron scattering study

► Mixed micelles may grow in completely different manners with respect to width and length. ► Addition of salt may fundamentally alter the growth behaviour of mixed ionic micelles. ► Growth behaviour is influenced by different trends of bending rigidity and saddle-splay constant. ► The micelle-to-bilayer transition is significantly shifted as salt is added to surfactant mixtures. ► The choice of H2O or D2O as solvent has a significant effect on the micelle-to-bilayer transition.
