► Alloy nanoparticles are generated by reduction with a femtosecond pulsed laser. ► Precursor solutions are mixtures of the metal ions of interest. ► No reducing agents are added into the mixtures of the metal ions. ► Reduction is due to the reactive species abundantly produced by the laser.
