Synthesis and characterization of multifunctional Fe3O4/poly(fluorescein O-methacrylate) core/shell nanoparticles

► Synthesis of Fe3O4/poly(fluorescein O-methacrylate) core/shell nanoparticles. ► We fabricated core/shell nanoparticles via surface-initiated polymerization. ► Particle size, morphology, and aggregation behavior are controllable. ► These nanoparticles exhibit strong fluorescence and superparamagnetic behavior. ► We demonstrated the potential bioimaging applications of multifunctional particles.
