Packing effects on argon and methanol adsorption inside graphitic cylindrical and slit pores: A GCMC simulation study

► Packing configurations of non-polar and polar fluids in pores of different shapes. ► Linear, zigzag and helical packing configurations are observed for argon. ► Zigzag configuration is preferred by methanol to maximize the hydrogen bonding. ► Adsorbed fluid is denser in cylinder than in comparable slit. ► Packing manners have effects on the behaviour of the isosteric heat versus loading.
