The influence on paper strength properties when building multilayers of weak polyelectrolytes onto wood fibres

The polyelectrolyte multilayer technique has been used to modify wood fibres. It was shown that pH during the film formation and the type of polyelectrolyte used in the outer layer did affect the strength properties of sheets made from modified fibres.
