Synthesis and water vapor separation properties of pure silica and aluminosilicate MCM-48 membranes

▶ High quality ordered mesoporous MCM-48 and Al-MCM-48 membranes were synthesized by hydrothermal method. ▶ Water vapor/oxygen permeation and separation properties of these ordered mesoporous membranes were studied experimentally. ▶ Al-MCM-48 membranes exhibit high separation performance with water vapor/oxygen selectivity as high as 142, with water vapor permeance of 6 × 10−8 mol/m2 Pa s.
