A fluorescent turn-off/on method based on carbon dots as fluorescent probes for the sensitive determination of Pb2+ and pyrophosphate in an aqueous solution

- The CDs were used for detecting Pb2+ and PPi in aqueous solution.
- The proposed approach exhibited high sensitivity toward Pb2+ and PPi.
- No further chemical modification of CDs was required. The approach presented herein was simple, efficient and environment-friendly.
