- A thermal model of worn coated tool considering the flank wear effect is presented.
- Heat fluxes into the tool from the rake face and due to flank wear are estimated.
- A key global heat transfer coefficient is assessed through an inverse procedure.
- The sensitivity of tool temperature rise to tool wear volume and feed rate varies.
- The feed rate scheduling considering the influence of tool wear is suggested.
