Estimation of the depth of surface modification layer induced by cavitation peening

► An estimation method of surface modification thickness induced by cavitation peening was proposed. ► The surface residual stress and the radius of curvature generated by plastic deformation need to be measured. ► Based on plate theory and beam theory, the depth of modified layer can be obtained by surface residual stress and curvature.
