Hydroxyapatite coatings prepared by a high power laminar plasma jet

▶ High quality HA coatings can be produced at high power plasma jet (52 kW). ▶ For two HA powders a set of optimum deposition parameters has been defined. ▶ HA coatings with high crystallinity (80-90%). ▶ Coatings are without cracs and possess low porosity, 1-2%. ▶ Adhesion strength of 60-40 MPa for the coating thicknesses of 120-350 μm.
